Meet the dedicated members working to improve child health and wellness.
In the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic, a Community Based Organization - Action for Child Neurodevelopment Concept (ACND) was born to address the emerging challenges faced by children and families in our community.
The idea shared with like minded professionals from various schools of thought and diverse academic and professional backgrounds brought unity of purpose to the now young yet one of the most prolific CBOs in Kenya Today.
Our mission is to promote optimal child health and neurodevelopment through a holistic approach that encompasses education, community engagement, and support services.
At ACND, we believe that every child deserves a healthy start in life. Our programs are designed to enhance children's cognitive, social, and emotional development by providing access to essential resources, training, and advocacy. We collaborate with local healthcare providers, educators, and families to create supportive environments that nurture child development. We offer various programs that focus on empowering families and communities to create environments where children can thrive, ensuring they have access to the support they need for their holistic development.
We work closely with healthcare providers, educators, and community leaders to deliver targeted health, education, and neurodevelopmental interventions.
Evidence shows that of 385,000 babies born every 24hrs globally, upto 18% are at a high risk of developing neurological conditions either in the immediate life following birth or later in life.
These are disorders and disabilities associated primarily with the functioning of the brain resulting in difficulties with language and speech, motor skills, behavior, memory, learning, or other neurological functions.
Since our inception, we have impacted over 1,000 children, providing crucial health and educational support. We are proud of the strides we've made in improving child health outcomes.
